James T. Burton was appointed by Joachim Gauck, President of the Federal Republic of Germany, and recognized by the United States Department of State as the German Honorary Consul on January 29, 2015. Mr. Burton is a shareholder at Kirton McConkie where he practices in the firm’s intellectual property litigation group. Mr. Burton is a member of Rotary Club 24 in Salt Lake City. Mr. Burton and his wife, Ashley, have five boys. Mr. Burton holds a B.A. from Utah State University, a J.D. from Florida State University College of Law, and an LL.M. from The George Washington University Law School. Mr. Burton formerly served as the president of the UCC.
